Abstract Florals
I watched a bouquet of tulips as they opened, spread, and then began to wither and drop petals over the course of many days. The flowers were so brilliant, as if living
out their last days in a blaze of glory. Inspired, I set up the bouquet in my studio and painted it from life as it withered.
This painting combines acrylic paint, ink, pastel, graphite and water-soluble crayons. Private Collection.
